GM diet is not good for you !

 
One of the most common questions I get from my followers that is following Gm diet is an effective way to lose weight ? The answer is No !
The biggest problem with Gm diet or some of the juice diet or detox diets is that you don't get enough protein! Any diet which doesn't have enough protein may lead to muscle loss and may cause metabolic slowdown ! Once u come back to normal eating you will gain back double the weight which u lost through this crash diets !
Detox is necessary but u may need not to ignore protein from detox diet !
Will one gain weight after the General motors seven-day diet plan?

Even if you strictly follow the seven-day plan, you will gain the kilos back once you return to your regular eating habits. After a week of the GM diet, if one starts gulping in an uncontrolled fashion, then all the weight lost will come back with a little more addition to it. There is some muscle loss leading to a drop in the BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate). If this continues the person will eventually end up gaining weight especially when he resumes back to his normal eating. This diet also involves calorie reduction. When the body is deprived of calories, it goes into starvation mode. It learns to conserve energy. When regular eating is resumed, it will tend to use less food for energy and store more, resulting in weight and fat gain.
Due to it being a low-calorie diet, you may experience metabolic slow down which will make it more difficult for you to maintain your weight in the future. A person will end up gaining weight especially when he resumes normal eating.
